Parent's will be aware that owing to the global PHP vulnerability, we took the system used to manage swimming lessons offline, including the swim school parental HomePortal. We would like to reassure parents and carers that there has been no data breach and no cyber attack. The action taken was purely precautionary and in line with Aberdeenshire Council's IT security procedures.
While this system is offline, lesson payments, moves between classes and progress updates through the HomePortal remain unavailable. Unfortunately the HomePortal cannot be re-instated and will remain offline until our new learn to swim platform is launched, we had already been working towards a new portal and the aim is to launch this as soon as possible, it's likely to be early 2027.
Learn to Swim lessons have been, and will continue within the Live Life Aberdeenshire venues. Swimming instructors will continue to record attendance and will move to recording progress on paper, pupil records will be updated and further information will be shared in the coming weeks.
Please note, pupils will not lose their place because payments cannot currently be made online.
