Bookbug is a free, friendly and fun way for families to share songs, rhymes and stories together. These relaxed sessions are aimed at babies, toddler or pre-school children (0-5 years), and their families which last around 30 minutes. Each session has been designed to support children's development and early learning while having fun!
Rhymes and songs help baby’s language skills and are great building blocks for your baby’s future learning. Sharing time singing with your babies, toddlers and pre-school children is a fantastic way to have fun together and meet other families who live in your community.
The Bookbug programme also gifts four free bags of books to every child in Scotland for their first five years. For more information about Bookbug, including book gifting programmes, research, advice and tips, please visit Scottish Book Trust.
Libraries, health staff and nurseries in Aberdeenshire work together to try to make sure that all families receive their bag. If by any chance you missed getting a Bookbug bag you can pick one up from any library during their open hours.
