Join in the fun and help us celebrate 10 Years of Alford Community Campus
Alford Community Campus is celebrating 10 years of bringing the community together, and everyone is invited to join in the fun! On Saturday, 1st November, from 10 am to 2 pm, the Campus and Alford Library will host a special anniversary celebration full of activities for all ages.
A day packed with activities, visitors can enjoy a wide range of events across both the Alford Library and the Community campus, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
At Alford Library:
- Bookbug session (booking required): A lively session of songs and stories for pre-school children with their parents or carers.
- Treasure hunt and story: Fun literary-themed treasure hunts suitable for children aged 3–12.
- STEAM Fun for families (booking required): Hands-on coding for curious kids and parents/carers.
- History of a house: Discover how to trace past owners, explore historic maps, and delve into local archives.
- Doric Blethers: Storytelling and singing led by North East artists, with plenty of audience participation.
- Drop-in crafts and mural making: Help create a commemorative wall display that will be on show for a year.
At Alford Community Campus:
- Sports and fitness activities: Aqua Zumba, Group Cycle, Bootcamp, Circuits, Dance Fit, Pickleball, Indoor Bowling, Judo, Swimming Sessions, Rugby with the local team and hire of Table Tennis tables.
- Local stalls and food: Enjoy a variety of food and drink options, plus discover local services and memberships.
- Fire station visit: Meet the local fire service.
All activities are Free and open to all ages; everyone is welcome! Please note that exercise classes are for over 16s only
