I went to a trial with my school and really enjoyed it! I like that it’s fast and exciting.

Access to training on snow is difficult. I attend specific snow based training camps and try to get out any time it snows even if it’s just around the streets of Huntly.
To come top 3 in the Scottish under 16 roller ski series (I was 1st in under 14 last year but I’m the youngest under 16 and competing over longer distances).
I go to roller ski training 3 times a week and do at least 1 other long ski in my own time. Running reps once a week plus other running in my own time and some local races. I do strength training 5 times a week.
I have to fit homework around this and I don’t have a lot of time for social activities. I do have a lot friends on the team though and enjoy spending time with them.
I’m hardworking and dedicated (obsessed!).
This season I’ve had 2 roller ski races to far and have 3 more for the Scottish series with potentially another 1 towards the British series. I am hoping for 3-5 ski races in Germany, Sweden and Norway.
I get disappointed and frustrated if things don’t go well especially if I break a pole or get injured, but I just keep going!

Enjoyment of the sport.
Have fun and don’t be scared of falling!
Access to the gym will help me with my strength training. Swimming is also good for recovery.
