Meet Golfer Kimberley Beveridge

Kimberley Beveridge has been playing golf since she was three years old. She attended college golf in Texas, United States.

In 2019 she was the Scottish Ladies Amateur Champion and represented Scotland in numerous occasions. In 2021 she turned Professional and currently plays on the Ladies European Access Tour and Santander Tour.

What inspired you to take up your sport?

My dad and brothers as they played the game.

Which club did you start your sporting journey with?

Aboyne Golf Club.

What has been your biggest challenge in your sporting journey, and how did you overcome this?

When I was ten years old. I had a hip injury that resulted in getting three operations. I was out of action for 2 years. I had to work hard in my fitness and strength to get back to full strength to compete again.

What are your goals for the coming year?

To compete on the Ladies European Tour.

What does your training programme involve, and does this impact on other areas of your life?

I currently receive strength and conditioning support through the Titleist Performance Institute.

What skills do you have that have helped you succeed in your sport?

I am very competitive, being the youngest in my family. I was always determined to win against my brothers.

How many competitions do you plan to compete in?

Between 15-20 competitive tournaments that are mainly in Europe.

How do you deal with setbacks in your sport, whilst training or competing?

I have to accept injuries that are out of my control. I have a good support team from my family and my swing coach.

Who is your biggest inspiration from the world of sport?

Tiger Woods and Rory McIIroy have been good ambassadors for the game of golf.

What is your greatest achievement in your sport?

In 2019 I was the St Andrews ladies links Champion and Scottish Ladies Amateur Champion.

What helps you to stay motivated and focussed during your training?

I would love to achieve and compete on gaining a full card on Ladies European Tour.

What advice would you give to others just starting out in any sport?

Make practice fun, and enjoy it.

How will your Talented Athlete Pass help you develop and hone your skills as an athlete?

During winter months when I’m at home, having access to the gym/ fitness classes to improve my fitness.
