Competent Swimmer Award

Outline of Award/Assessment

• Swim two lengths or 50ms whichever is less
• Jump into deep water
• Tread water for one minute
• Float five seconds on the front and back

(Please note that holding the Competent Swimmer Award does not negate the requirement for direct adult supervision)

This award applies to:

• All under 8's to allow admission of an additional child under adult supervision as we the Under 8's Admission Policy
• All swimmers whose ability is cause for concern swimming beyond the 1.5m mark and out of their depth
• Inflatable/aquarun sessions
• Un-programmed sessions
